EV Glossary

Common electric vehicle terms and acronyms explained simply.

EV
Battery Electric Vehicle. Powered purely by electricity stored in a battery pack, with no backup petrol engine. Examples include Tesla Model 3 and BYD Atto 3.
SoH
State of Health. The battery health percentage representing how much energy the battery pack can hold compared to when it was new. Higher is better.
WLTP
Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure. A standardized lab test used to measure EV driving range. Real-world range is typically 10-15% lower than WLTP.
